CHAMP Looking for Local Military Personnel and donations

Since May 2005, CHAMP (Citizens Helping Active Military Personnel) has been sending care packages to our local men and women soldiers stationed in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait from the East Hampton and Marlborough area.  Led by volunteers from the VFW Post #5095 and their Ladies Auxiliary, the Masonic Anchor Lodge #112 and the Boy Scout Troop #8, CHAMP is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting servicemen and women from East Hampton and Marlborough.

We are looking for names of military personnel that are serving in Iraq, Afghanistan Kuwait or are getting ready to go so that we can add their names to our list for care packages.  This information is not shared with anyone and is only used by the CHAMP organization.  For more information on CHAMP or to share the name and address of an Iraq or Afghanistan-stationed military person please contact the VFW Post #5095 at 267-8837 (after 3:00 pm Mon-Fri and after 12:00 pm on Sat & Sun).  You can also e-mail KSchluntz@snet.net.

Community members who would like to donate items to be included in the care packages can deliver them to the East Hampton VFW which is on North Maple Street (across from the East Hampton High School). All donations are greatly appreciated!!
